Namaste! Welcome to India.
Are you ready for your Little Voyage across this fascinating culture and landscape?

On your arrival at Delhi Airport, you will be met by your Little Voyage local guide, ready for transfer to your hotel.

There are no activities planned for the first day, so simply relax at the comfortable Scarlette Hotel and recover your energy levels, or explore the local neighbourhood of Safdarjung at your leisure.

Note: We recommend arriving between Wednesday to Monday to follow the itinerary without modifications.

DAY 2

    DELHI – NEW DELHI

Today you’ll get to see a truly unique side of Delhi, a vibrant capital, fascinating and slightly overwhelming. Meet our local guide in the morning after breakfast to visit and explore both well-known sights and hidden spots, starting in Old Delhi visiting the Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, standing across the road from the Red Fort.

Experience the cycle rickshaw ride in the Chandani Chowk, the nerve centre of commercial vibrant activity, where the famous traditional workmanship thrived through its narrow connect lanes, a lifeblood to the city.

In the afternoon, we proceed for the New Delhi sightseeing and start with Humayun’s Tomb, built in 1570 and is of particular cultural significance as it was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent, and inspired several major architectural innovations, such as the Taj Mahal. Next stop is the Lotus Temple, a Bahá’í House of Worship, notable for its Lotus flower shape.

DAY 3

    TRAVEL TO AGRA

After breakfast, board your private minibus and travel to Agra. This is a 4 hours drive approximately. On arrival to Agra, check-in at the luxurious ITC Mughal hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax and enjoy this fabulous space, tribute to the Mughal builders and the beautiful gardens, spreading over 35 acres.

This is a day to explore Bangkok at your leisure or simply relax at the fabulous Cabochon Hotel and recover your energy levels.

DAY 4

    AGRA

An early start today for an unforgettable sunrise experience in the majestic Taj Mahal. Watching dawn gently breaking over this white marble flawless architectural creation is guaranteed to be an unforgettable memory ingrained into your mind for the rest of your life. A monument of love that took 22 years to build in the mid 17th century by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as an expression of his love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Depart Agra in the late morning to Jaipur by private vehicle. On the way, visit Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted city built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, in honour of the great Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti. Used as his capital but slowly became deserted and ruined after Akbar left the city.

DAY 5

    JAIPUR

After breakfast today, meet your local guide to experience the Amber Fort on board of the Jeeps, and explore the ancient capital of Amber. With its stunning views across the area from the top of the hill, the complex combines a royal residency and forts dating back to the 17th century. While in the Amer Palace, don’t miss the Sheesh Mahal, adorned with thousands of mirror tiles on the walls and ceiling.

Next stop is the Palace of Winds, locally known as Hawa Mahal, a five-storied pink sandstone pyramid shaped monument, with 953 windows uniquely carved in Rajasthani pattern and designs, so that the women of the royal household could observe street festivals while unseen from the outside.

The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the palatial hotel and the fabulous facilities. Relax and rejuvenate in the spa, workout in the fitness centre, take a dip in the pool or just go for a leisurely stroll in the old city of Jaipur. We recommend exploring the famous shopping markets of Jaipur like Johari Bazaar, Tripolia and Chand Pol Bazaars. Jaipur, is truly a shopper’s paradise, with a fantastic range of local handicrafts, jewellery, textiles, exotic blue pottery, beautiful stone and sandalwood carvings.

DAY 6

    JAIPUR, TO DELHI

Today, depart Jaipur. You will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Delhi, to head to Leh the following day.

Depending on the flight time, you could either relax at the hotel or explore Jaipur.

Optional: Sightseeing tour of Jaipur city visiting City Palace, now converted into a museum, except a small portion that is still used by the royal family of Jaipur. Built in the fortified campus style, the palace covers almost one-seventh part of the city. The tour heads to Jantar Mantar Observatory, constructed in 1727 by Maharajah Jai Singh II of Jaipur and is one of the five observatories in India.

Upon arrival in Delhi, the day is at leisure.

DAY 7

    DELHI TO LEH

In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Leh.

Upon arrival, your local guide will meet you for transfer to your accommodation at Stok Palace (Heritage Chulli Bagh Villa). Enjoy the hospitality of the Royal family in this historical property, the home for the Namgyal dynasty till today. The palace was built by the Ladakhi craftsmen in 1820 and embraces the grandeur and beauty of nature with spectacular views overlooking the Ladakh mountain range.

Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure for acclimatisation. In the evening, experience the rich culture at the colourful handicraft markets run by Tibetan refugees, many from families who first fled to Ladakh more than 50 years ago.

DAY 8

    LEH

This morning, your local guide will meet you at the hotel for a full day trip to explore Leh. The first stop is the Shey Monastery, the former palace of the pre-Tibetan royal family with its famous 12 m. high copper statue of Lord Buddha. The next stop is the Thiksey Monastery, famous for its architecture. A 12 storeys monastery with 10 temples, assembly hall, and residence for around 150 monks and nunnery.

The last stop of the day is at the beautiful Tibetan Buddhist monastery Hemis, founded in 1630 and nestled up high in the mountains of the Zanskar range, about 40 km up the Indus from Leh.

Back to the hotel to freshen up, ready for dinner at the “Bon Appetit” restaurant in the evening.

DAY 9

    LEH

Early morning, attend the blessing ceremony at Stok Palace, then the rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy Stok Palace and the surroundings.

Optional: Experience thrilling white water rafting in the natural beauty of the Zanskar region. This is a 17 km (2 hrs) rafting adventure from Scorpochey to Sangam, and includes lunch as well. You would experience the Zanskar river for a short time, but you’ll cherish its memory forever.​

DAY 10

    LEH

Today is at leisure to relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere at Stok Palace. Not everyday one gets the chance to stay in an actual palace and a residence of royalty. Explore the palace museum showcasing the rich artifacts collections, or the family shrine with an in-house resident monk for the daily serene rituals. Feel the freshness of nature as you venture for a relaxing walk exploring the area around the palace, the village or at the base of Stok Kangri.

DAY 11

    NUBRA

After breakfast, meet your local guide at the hotel to depart Leh. Today’s destination is Nubra Valley. Experience a drive via Khardung La Pass, the gateway through the Ladakh mountains of the Himalayas, at a staggering height of 5,359 m. by the Tibetan borders.
After crossing the pass, enjoy the spectacular views over the villages adorning the landscape of Nubra valley, before arriving at the Nubra Eco-lodge.

DAY 12

    NUBRA TO LEH

In the morning, experience the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra Valley. In the afternoon, we’ll head back to Leh, enroute visiting Leh Palace, a former royal residence, built in the 17th century and modelled on the Potala Palace in Lhasa in Tibet. After the visit, we’re back to Stok Palace for the last 2 days of the trip.

DAY 13

    LEH

Today is free for you to explore Leh at leisure or to relax in the serenity of your fabulous palatial hotel, Stok Palace.

Optional: A day trip to Pangong Lake, a beautiful lake with crystal blue waters blessed with pleasant weather throughout the year. This is a popular destination to visit in Leh, located 160 km away from Ladakh. The drive to Pangong lake is an exciting experience offering scenic views.

    DEPART LEH TO DELHI
